For those of you who don't know, Free Peoplehas began making short films. Their first one, Roshambo, was incredible. The gist of Roshambo is that Sheila and Chris run into each other on the streets of New York after not seeing each other for some amount of time. Chris is a wanderer and likes to pop in and out of Sheila's life as he pleases. He is back in town and their love is rekindled and well... you just need to watch it. They came out with a sort of prequel to the first film yesterday called, Roshambo: Rock. It kind of explains how their relationships is and the toll it takes on Sheila. I shall link it below for your viewing pleasure. Warning: it made me cry. Prepare for some water works.
I have had a strong love for Audrey for years. She was one of the greatest actresses I've ever watched. She is the definition of perfection and class. She was a kind hearted woman and I wish I could have known her somehow. She is everything that I wish to embody. Here's an ode to Audrey. May her style, grace, and eyebrows live on forever.
Audrey is best known for her role in Breakfast at Tiffany's where she plays New York socialite, Holly Golightly. She's "a very lovely, very frightened girl" who "lived alone except for a nameless cat." She meets Paul, a man who lives in her apartment building, and her whole idea of love is turned upside down. It's one of my favorite movies.
“People do fall in love. People do belong to each other, because that’s the only chance that anyone’s got for true happiness.” - Paul Varjak, Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961)
Another well known Hepburn favorite is her Academy Award winning role in Roman Holiday.
And my all time favorite, Sabrina. I don't know what it is about this movie, but I was instantly hooked the first time I saw it.
“I have learned how to live, how to be in the world and of the world, and not to just stand aside and watch. And I will never, never again run away from life or from love, either”
And then I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge those PERFECT brows.
In a previous post, I discussed my goal of losing some weight by the end of summer. I have wasted no time in beginning that process. I am cutting down my portions, counting my calories, and staying away from junk food and soda. In one week, I managed to lose 3.6 pounds without exercise. This week I am adding yoga (and potentially running) into my daily regimen. I am feeling really good about myself and I am already seeing a slight difference in my body. I have more energy. I am making smarter choices. I am also seeing a slight physical difference (getting that flatter tummy).
I have this next week off of work (for one of my jobs) and Madison and I are going to try to do yoga every day. I wasn't able to do it with her today, but I did an at home session with a Youtube video as my instructor. I can already feel it in my legs. I am so rejuvenated and excited to get back into shape.
I am also excited about how good my lunch was today!
Spinach salad with hard boiled egg, cheese, dried cranberries, sliced almonds, and scrumptious vinaigrette dressing. Mmmmm!
Also, I want to be able to get up to this level of yoga:
I'm not going to lie. My main goal in to be able to do a handstand. I need to learn to balance. I am also looking to tone my arms. Let me know if you have any suggestions!
Happy Friday everyone. Home decor and design has always been a favorite thing of mine. In the last few years, I have become extremely interested. I feel like I spend more money at Cost Plus than I do at any other clothing store. I dream of the days I will have an entire house to use as a blank canvas for design. I've been online window shopping for my future house. Here's a little glimpse at what I find beautiful.
I apologize for my lack of posting lately. I have been swamped with work and I got sick (again). I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to the food at my work. I may never eat there again. Throwing up is on my list of Least Favorite Things. So I'll spare my body the agony by depriving it of fish tacos. Nothing is fun about coming home late from work and spending your sleepless night with your head in the toilet. All I've done all day was sleep in until 2:30, take a bath, eat some toast, and watch horrible television. Sounds fun, right?
Well, I have one week off of work from one of my jobs next week (perks of working for a school). I am ready to have some real time off. Hello, Spring Break!
